Helpful Hints from Losers

  • When you go on an airplane, collect your barf bags. Keep them in your cars, purse and desk. They are convienient for "getting sick" and they don't take up much space.
  • When eating chicen, try to choose the dark meats because they tend to more moist. When eating the light meat, dipping sauce will help.
  • When eating out order from the appetizer menu, it's less food and tends to be cheaper than a meal.
  • As a new post op there are three things that are a MUST 1. baby spoons 2. Sippy cups to train yourself to take smaller swallow 3. small plastic containers for leftover
  • Take your MEASUREMENTS, your WEIGHT and your PICTURE right before surgery. Then re-take them every month for at least the first 6-12 months. It's nice to see the inches are missing when you have lost very many pounds 
  • If you are going to eat a chip or craker, make sure it has some protein on it it (cream cheese, tuna, beans...)
  • Decided early on what things you to avoid eating. So, when you are faced with the decision, it is alot easier because you have already made that choice.
  • Plan your meals and snakcs to help avoid grazing
  • Sipping warm mint tea might help sooth your grumpy pouch
  • Extra crispy cooked bacon is a great treat for a person that is a few months out
